Legal Research and Web Design

Renee Gerstlauer has been a member of the legal research team and is currently a member of the web design team. Renee is a Sociology major with a minor in Political Science, she is expected to graduate in May 2025. She is a peer advisor for the Sociology department. As a peer advisor, Renee advises students in the department on graduation requirements, hosts events to increase community engagement, and works closely with faculty to advocate with students in the department. In addition to being a peer advisor, Renee is also the Vice President of the Sociology Club, which she worked to revamp and re-register after the club was dormant for 10 years. Renee chose to major in Sociology and minor in Political Science because she wants to learn skills that are necessary to make the world around her a more equitable place, while viewing people as people instead of numbers. Renee has a strong interest in politics and studying why people vote the way they do, whether that is in elections, congress, or with their money. Once Renee graduates she hopes to pursue a career that allows her to continue learning about why people behave the way that they do in order to utilize that information to better the world around her.
In Renee’s freetime she enjoys reading, rock climbing, spending time with friends, and listening to podcasts.
