Nia Hart (sher/her) was a transcriber for Legislative Tracing Team in the Reimagining Justice Lab. In this role, she used multiple legal databases to identify the initial years in which hidden sentence laws were enacted or amended into law. In May 2023, Nia graduated Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Nia studied sociology with a minor in psychology and a certificate in criminology. She was also a member of the Commonwealth Honors College. Nia has a passion for criminal justice reform, diversity equity and inclusion, civil rights and child welfare. Currently Nia works as a Social Worker where she is able to fulfill her desire to help others. In her free time, Nia likes watch true crime documentaries, draw, and go thrift shopping.
