Meadhbh McDermott (they/them) is pursuing a dual degree of Bachelor of Arts in both English and Sociology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. They are also pursuing certificates in creative writing, criminology and criminal justice, and community engagement and public service. Meadhbh is passionate about grassroots community organizing and is part of the Community Scholars Program abolition working group and the Prison Abolition Collective on campus, with a focus on mutual aid and community care. They have also worked with the Juniper Writing Institute, working with advanced teens interested in creative writing. In their free time, Meadhbh likes to read, write poetry, listen to music, and grow with friends.
