Kathryn Keyser (she/her) graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College in 2020 with a major in sociology modified with Hispanic studies and a minor in English. As an undergraduate, she completed an independent study on how peer connections formed within the First-Year Summer Enrichment Program, a yearlong orientation program for first-generation college students, impacted their sense of academic and social belonging throughout their undergraduate experience. During her undergraduate and following graduation, Kathryn was a research assistant in the Reimagining Justice Lab, conducting literature review research, analyzing and coding Virginia and California state archives that provided insight into the origins of hidden sentencing laws, and transcribing hand-written archives.
Kathryn currently works as a paralegal with the Detained Adults Program at the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition and plans to pursue a career in public interest law. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, rock climbing, and walking along the Potomac River.
