Ciara Cross (she/they) joined Reimagining Justice Lab as part of the Hidden Sentencing Digitization Team in Fall 2025 while studying Sociology and Communication as an undergraduate at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After taking a criminology course, she became interested in learning more about how the criminal justice system impacts individuals who come into contact with it. Along with this, she wants to learn more about how to reinvent the justice system while promoting equality and human dignity. She is looking into going into a social work field involving working with incarcerated or previously incarcerated individuals. In order to do this, she plans on pursuing a Masters degree in Social Work.
Outside of school, Ciara is passionate about environmental sustainability and fashion. She enjoys thrifting, music, going to concerts with friends, and spending time in nature.
